Onion Time! Round Two!

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

The time has come for our onion harvest and we once again need your help! This task will consist of gathering the cured onions from the field and piling them in our large harvest crates for transport back to our barn. Great exercise and a fun way to spend time on the farm. A big thanks to all the folks who came out last week, they were a big help with both onion collecting AND weeding (a big job, always appreciated out here!) This week will be onion collecting only, we promise!

Where: Roots and Shoots Farm

When: Friday, September 3rd , 2021 from 9am to 12pm

Things to bring:

Hat, closed-toe shoe or boots, long pants and shirt, gloves, water bottle, lunch/snacks.

Please note that, this year, the onion field is about half a kilometer from the Farm Hub. You can drive down and park in the field, if it is dry enough, or bring your bike or walk.

Compensation:

For every hour you work you can grab $10 worth of veggies from our store. We have loads of roma tomatoes, peppers, and more! You can also pick your own flowers!

This is a nice opportunity to get outside, have some exercise and connect with the farm. It's a beautiful time of year and the weather looks perfect this Friday!

Please RSVP by replying to this email .

***When you arrive*** please park along the fence, just beside our "JARDIN DES MASHAM" sign, where our employees park. We will gather outside the farm store at 9am and make our way to the onion field from there.

If you are showing up later, you can find us in the field just as you come north over the hill from the 366 (Masham). there is a driveway there and a field for parking. If you can't find us, make your way to our farm-store area and someone will direct you where to go.

Thanks everyone!

The Roots and Shoots Farm Team
